Show abstract

Combining a staggered difference-in-differences estimate of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement’s realised impact on EU-UK agrifood trade with a structural gravity projection of plausible future trading arrangements, we ask how much of the post-Brexit agrifood trade loss is recoverable under alternative UK-EU relationships — including a veterinary/SPS agreement — and how much looks permanent under the current trading relationship.
