President Trump has threatened tariffs against eight European nations, including the UK, over their support for Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland. This is a structural shift in transatlantic relations rather than a conventional trade dispute, since Trump’s real goal is territorial acquisition rather than trade concessions.
